Hotel Monte de Gozo
Monte do Gozo Holiday City Hotel is far more than just a hotel. For large groups it is the ideal option, with facilities for coaches, meals for large groups and rooms organized in pavilion form. For the professional, it is an oasis of peace, close to the airport, the Congress Centre and the Xunta administrative buildings; for families, it is a paradise without traffic and with all kinds of services laid on for everybody, including children; and for the pilgrims, it is the culmination of all their efforts, the prize awaiting all who reach the end of the Road which, regardless of their origins, has transformed them from within to resume their lifestyles, their existences, with new challenges.
Built in 1993 as a shelter for pilgrims and located in the exact spot where, after 800 kilometres of the French Way, the walker seeks out from the top of the hill the objective he has pursued during so many lengthy marches.
The Monte de Gozo Holiday City is peace and quiet, it is nature, it is culture, it is the Way. Set in the heart of the countryside, in a cultivated, garden area of 65 hectares (with 10 hectares of lawn, over 12,000 trees and bushes, a huge, artificial lake and an auditorium to seat an audience of 40,000 people), Monte do Gozo has enormous facilities to cater for large groups and families, with supermarkets, childrens playgrounds, swimming pool, souvenir shops, laundry service, animation, etc.
More than a hotel, Monte do Gozo is a little city in itself with a hotel, a hostel and a camping site with bungalows. Monte do Gozo Holiday City has capacity to take up to 3,000 visitors and, in fact, is the only establishment in Galicia capable of housing so many visitors. In addition, it offers restaurant service to cater for them all.
All the Monte de Gozo complex is a pedestrian area. Our guests particularly enjoy the birdsong in the early mornings and the possibility of doing sports or walking through the countryside that surrounds us.
In this Monte do Gozo Holiday City setting, many important events have been held, such as the Cross-Country World Championship or concerts given by world-famous artists of the likes of Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, the Cure, Maná or the Red Hot Chile Peppers, amongst many others.
