Adegas Tollodouro
Galicia
Adegas Tollodouro was founded in 2000 with the objective of producing wines of high quality within the Denomination of Origin Rias Baixas, leveraging the resources and the quality that their 52 hectares of vineyards offers. It has a cellar with capacity for 400,000 litres per annum.
The winery is located in Vilachán (Tomino, province of Pontevedra), at 42 ° north latitude and 8 ° 46 'west longitude. Its altitude above sea level ranges from 200m to 350m. The distance to the river Miño is only 3.5 km and Atlantic Ocean is 10 km away, The vineyards are south-facing between the streams of Pego and Braves.
Although close to the sea and the river Miño, its location along the hillside is not affected neither by mists nor the cold. The southern orientation ensures good heat insulation, which contributes to a perfect ripening of the grapes.
The climate is mild all year-round, but especially in summer. Soft summer temperatures cause the grapes to ripen slowly, retaining all important varietal aromas and acidity necessary for the production of fresh and fruity wines.
The granitic soil is sandy and very permeable which allows for very fine wines, capable of highlighting the most of the berries.
