Outstanding Galician seafood — worth returning for We visited La Sartén twice during our 2026 stay in A Coruña, which probably says more than anything else about the quality of the food. On our first visit, we had the sardines, tomato salad, grilled razor clams and zamburiñas, accompanied by a bottle of Do Ferreiro Albariño. Everything was fresh, carefully prepared and allowed to taste of the excellent ingredients rather than being hidden beneath unnecessary complexity. The second lunch was even more memorable. We returned to the zamburiñas and also ordered clams in marinera sauce and grilled cigalas, together with Pazo Baión Albariño. The cigalas were expensive, but absolutely worth it. They also reminded us that a good whole langoustine is about much more than the tail: there was a surprising amount of wonderfully sweet, delicate meat in the claws. The clams and their rich marinera sauce were excellent, while a little on the sweet side for us... Both Albariños worked very well with the seafood. Across the two visits, the cooking was consistent, confident and respectful of the produce. La Sartén is not inexpensive when ordering premium shellfish by weight, but the quality justified the price. One of our best seafood experiences in A Coruña, and a restaurant we would gladly return to.
