Learn about the many famous historical figures who have spent time in Vigo including Julio Verne, Isaac Newton, and Francis Drake. Stroll through the “Casco Vello,” the historic district of Vigo. Take a walk down “la Calle del Príncipe,” Vigo’s best street for shopping. See the La Alameda park, which hides a stone zoo of animal sculptures. Walk by the gorgeous Neo-Baroque theater Teatro Garcia Barbón. Admire the La Farola de Urzaíz, a beautiful street lamp designed by Jenaro de la Fuente which is also an iconic meeting point in Vigo.
