The staff was SO lovely. Some of them don't speak English (the chef doesn't seem to speak any and he serves the food) but if you can understand basic Spanish it is overall very smooth. In fact the woman who claimed her English was poor was so adorable. Our TV wasn't working and they replaced it within an hour (they brought in a brand new TV). They also took our cash and gave us change for the nearby laundromat, which only accepts €1 coins. We booked a couple of months in advance for 2 nights for a rest day on the Camino. We had taken the coastal alternative and switched over to the official one easily enough to get here (by the river), it was a nice walk. This was a great location to relax away from the city which honestly was not pleasant to walk through. It is really pretty with plenty of outdoor seating. We took the standard room which had no AC, but the rest of them do. The price differential between rooms was much lower on short notice. Breakfast was pretty standard but good. Dinner was great and the menu is more affordable than restaurants in the city. The receptionist comes in to take orders and again I can't stress enough how cute they are. The only downside is the bathroom. We found that the water from the shower can spill out a bit onto the floor due to the design (this may be unique to the room we were in). It is also a sliding door so while no one can see in, there is not much protection against noise. Like others say, it feels like more than a 1☆ hotel but it is probably down to technical standards like having no fridge in the rooms etc. I would highly recommend staying here!!
