Very overpriced for what it is. They don’t show on their website that - despite the prices - is only a 4 star. I have been disappointed by three Relais & Châteaux hotels in a row this week. It seems to be a club hotels can join without any consistent requirement of quality This hotel missed on enough details that the overall stay was very average. From the start they were deliberately difficult: their website does not have a possibility to add children, only adults. But the room type said it could accommodate up to two children. OK, they said at check-in, but there is a supplement of €60 / night. Throughout our stay there were disgruntled parents in the lobby, complaining about this. We were annoyed that the hotel did not even bother to add another towel or more water to the room. With the supplement the hotel is even worse value for money The WiFi is terrible. Even sending emails is painful, and definitely too slow for work video calls Breakfast is fine, nothing special, in a space that gets very crowded. A long queue forms in front of the self-service Nespresso machine. The staff seemed overworked and refused to do basic things like getting coffee cups (they explained where they were, get them yourself) We did not try the spa because it does not accept kids (unless you rent a private room with its own small pool, which sounded depressing) The restaurant is excellent though, and the staff there was superb There are electric car chargers, priced by the day (€40, or €20 a half day) The building itself is quirky and charming, the best feature being its eclectic and comfortable drawing room where you can have a drink before dinner My recommendation is to stay somewhere else and come here for dinner
The rooms are very nice and the staff all very friendly and good service. Food was very good too. For the price though I expect the spa to be included. This is an expensive hotel - especially for Galicia - so for the spa to cost an extra €30(?) per person is a LOT. Still, we had a very nice stay
We enjoyed a good stay, and a nice spa at the hotel. However, the mattress was too soft, and we struggled to get a comfortable sleep. The menus at both the restaurant and cafe lack variety, and there is very little to choose from if a person is allergic to seafood. For example, at Filigrana, there is only the option of a beef or lamb that is appropriate. The quality of the meal was also not as high as one would expect. The outdoor seating at the cafe is extremely uncomfortable, which is a pity, since it's a great venue to relax and have a drink/bite to eat. We were also expecting more local Galician dishes, e.g, chorizo in red wine, raxo, padron peppers, etc. - a local tasting menu would be a great idea for foreigners to get to know Galician cuisine.
A very beautiful and wonderful hotel. The rooms are great, the spa is amazing, and I had a wonderful massage from a Brazilian therapist. The food was also very good. However, the biggest downside was the terrible service. The guy at the reception was constantly confused, couldn’t manage to call a taxi, and kept forgetting things. The check-in process took an incredibly long time, and we had to wait a lot. One of the girls spoke very poor English, which made communication quite difficult. I honestly don’t understand how a hotel of this level — with a Michelin Key and part of the Relais & Châteaux collection — can not even have a basic toilet brush in the bathroom. Please take this into consideration. Overall though, the hotel is truly beautiful, atmospheric, stylish, and full of lovely details. I would still recommend staying there.
This place felt like a beautiful gift after the Camino de Santiago. An authentic and truly beautiful hotel, bringing comfort both to the eyes and the body. The atmosphere, interiors and surrounding nature create a very special feeling of peace and elegance. Excellent spa, exceptional breakfast and highly professional service with genuine care for guests. This place will stay in my heart as one of the most beautiful places I have visited, and somewhere I would gladly return again.
