Had a really great experience last week. The service, the vibe, the hospitality, the welcome by Julio, the staff, the luxery breakfast (Gloria) , cleaning, everything. Very good place for camino. Thank you for everything.
Julio, the owner, is a wonderful host who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. I only wish I could have stayed for a week! It's a lovely place for pilgrims, and I highly recommend it.
The rooms are very nice, the beds comfortable and frames sturdy. Each person has 2 drawers in a dresser and hooks to hang things, there are hair driers in the rooms as well. The laundry is free (including detergent) though there are 2 of each machine and can get quite busy as most people plan to do their laundry here. The breakfast was very nice in the morning. (Fresh bread, eggs cooked for you when you arrive, fresh orange juice, coffee, yoghurt, cheese and meat. Was a great way to start the day.) I would agree with other reviews that it is expensive for a hostel but the amenities make up for that.
By far my favorite stay on the Camino. Julio was very accommodating- his mother Gloria made the best breakfast of eggs, fresh squeezed orange juice, sourdough, jamon, Santiago cake. The hostel was also so clean and I met some really kind people during my stay. Washer and dryer worked great, there was a nice balcony to sit on, elevator, soap, hair dryers..I HIGHLY recommend.
If there is such a thing as a 5 star hostel, this is it. The absolute, hands down, best hostel/albergue on the Camino. We were greeted and welcomed as royalty, there is free self-serve washer and dryer with pods. Fruit available throughout the stay, all facilities you might ever need and an absolute banquet fit for a king for breakfast. You MUST stay here on your Camino. It seems brand new and is impeccably clean. Thanks for a fabulous stay!
