Restaurante A Casa da Henriqueta is located in maritime and fishing surroundings, with splendid open views of the coast and the mountains of Santa Maria de Oia framed between the municipalities of A Guarda and Baiona.
A Casa da Henriqueta is housed in an old stone building full of character, charm and historic features in the heart of the Old Town. There is a bar area on the ground floor but if you go up the stairs there are two intimate dinning rooms plus a small covered balcony and an amazing garden terrace with seating where you can enjoy incredible mountain and sea views.
A warm welcome awaits from the owner, Esteban and his team. The food is traditional with favourites including octopus with noodles,steak and chips,cod,lamb,roast ham and freshly caught fish of the day like sea bream. Tapas/starters include : mussels, grilled prawns, razor clams, squid, croquettes, spanish omelette, scrambled eggs, galician pie, salads and green peppers. Desserts include pancakes, fried milk with cinamon,chocolate tart and home made flan. There is a good selection of galician wines as well as other great spanish wines.
We had the steak which was soft and tasty washed down with a bottle of local red wine from the winery. Quinta de Cosuelo. For dessert we enjoyed the huge fresh stuffed pineapple with caramelised custard cream with kiwis. The bill for three was only 50€ which included all pre and after dinner drinks,coffee and beers so this place is really good value in relation to the quality on offer.
