Despite its quaint appearance, what the Casa Marcelo lacks in size and menu choice it more than makes up for in creativity and innovation with their food and service; the fixed menu, for example, is presented via iPads. The multi-course tasting menu has quickly become known as an art form in culinary taste and design, fully deserving of its Michelin 1 Star status. Originality is clearly not in short supply here, with everything from anchovies to pimientos de padron receiving the Casa Marcelo treatment.
The meticulous attention to detail paid to every dish is all on display thanks to the open kitchen, adding to the intimacy of watching your food being cooked by the chefs and their team. At times the atmosphere may be a bit quiet and subdued, but if you are looking for a unique and memorable eating experience in Santiago, Casa Marcelo should be at the top of the list.
