Ostras Suso is a very traditional galician restaurant / bar with great views looking out across the estuary (Ria de Vigo), a few minutes walk from the centre of Arcade. Originally an oysters/mussels bar when it first opened nearly 30 years ago its has gradually diversified to serve classic galician dishes.
The delicacy is still the oysters freshly caught from the Ria in front of the restuarant. But there are a range of other fresh shellfish and seafood dishes and delicious empanada (pasty).
In addition,Ostras Suso serve an incredible plate of Linguine with clams and meat stew which can be made to order. The cook,Puri (the boss!),needs a day's notice to prepare this classic dish so ask for the 'guiso de carne con almejas'.The babby scallop pasty can also be made to order with a day's notice.
This is a top quality place to eat in great surroundings and the food is great value for money.
