Restaurante A Adega
Galicia
Restaurante A Adega is located in the lovely Northern Portuguese village of Lanhelas on the Viana Do Castelo-Caminha road within easy reach of the Galician border.
A Adega is housed in an old, traditional three-storey buidling bursting with history and character facing Lanhelas Square which is small and picturesque with nice views of the local church, other landmark buildings and backdrop of the surrounding hills and countryside.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated with lots of ornaments courtesy of the famous Portuguese sculpturist,Bordalo Pineiro. There is an outside terrace for dinning or to have a drink. In addtion to the intimate ground floor dinning areas there is also two smaller dinning rooms upstairs including one for that special romantic occasion!
The owner, Anna Maria Garcia, has created a very special place where an intimate dinning experience is guaranteed.
The cuisine is traditional Portuguese where local dishes such as Lamprey and rice, salted cod, barbecued octopus, shredded duck in rice and local meats such as pork stuffed with ham/figs/almonds served with roasted apples, roasted goat with rice and roast beef are extremely popular.
This is a restaurant which serves quality food at reasonable prices which is waiting to be discovered by a wider audience.
Thanks to the colloboration of Lanhelas Painting and Sculpture Gallery there is currently an exhibition of the select paintings of the artist Maria de Fatima Huber Burmester Gilbert Alves Pimenta who loves to paint natural subjects such as flowers, views, the coast etc.
