Unveiled experience and atmosphere, thanks for your nice lunch
Our group of six paid the restaurant a visit last week, attracted by the raving reviews. The food didn't disappoint as it was exceptional. While a couple of pieces in our appetisers were shattered, the quality of the cuttlefish croquetas and crispy prawn parcels more than made up for it. The horse mackerel tartare was also a surprisingly well-balanced mixture of sweet and savoury —atypical and memorable. For our mains, we shared a generous silky, rich seafood rice with prawns & clams; and a delicious wild boar, black trumpets and white bean stew that called for seconds. For dessert, we shared a torrija and a chocolate tart —the former being worth the detour in and of itself. It's a shame the experience was somewhat spoiled by the awkward service, which didn't really make us feel taken care of. As we were about to leave, for instance, we were told we could not split the [significant] bill at all...with no explanation, apology, or viable alternative offered. One of us took the hit but it felt neither the waitress nor the chef —who stood nearby but didn't say a word— wanted us there. Which was odd, considering the dinner service was surprisingly just us. Probably just a bad night, but it speaks to the restaurant's room for growth. I'd still recommend it because the food is brilliant.
