DescriptionThis 5-day bus tour from Madrid takes you to explore the scenery, culture, and history of Spain’s green and welcoming northern coast. Take in picturesque villages, fishing harbors, and the magnificent Picos de Europa mountains. Visit the shrine of Covadonga. Explore the Basque country, enjoy a city tour of Bilbao, and admire the famed futuristic architecture of an iconic museum. Accommodation each night will be in centrally-located 4-star hotels, providing comfort and convenience throughout your journey. Detailed Itinerary Day 1: Madrid-Zaragoza-San Sebastian (Meals: D) Depart Madrid at 8:00 AM. After a short stop in Zaragoza, continue to San Sebastian, which features one of Europe’s finest in-city beaches. There is a relatively small city center that’s cozy and boasts fine fish restaurants, lots of pintxos bars and top-quality shops. Day 2. San Sebastian-Bilbao-Santillana-Santander (Meals: B, D) Breakfast. Departure to Bilbao. Short panoramic tour to admire the Guggenheim Museum building. Continue to Santillana del Mar, city considered as a National Monument. Short stop and continue to Santander. Dinner and accommodation. Day 3. Santander-Covadonga-Oviedo (Meals: B, D)) Breakfast. Departure through Picos de Europa mountains through Splendid landscapes. Arrival to Covadonga with free time to visit to the Shrine. Continuation to Oviedo, capital city of the Principality of Asturias and the administrative and commercial centre of the region. Arrival to the hotel, dinner and accommodation. Day 4: Oviedo-Gijon-Lugo (Meals: B, D) Visit Gijón for a short panoramic tour before continuing to the seafaring town of Luarca, Ribadeo, and Lugo. Day 5: Lugo-Salamanca-Madrid (Meals: B) Visit Salamanca where you’ll see famous Plaza Mayor and the city’s old quarters. Afterward, complete your excursion with a drive back to Madrid.
