Description

This experience begins just minutes from Maria Pita Square, outside the San Agustin food market in A Coruña. Your guide will introduce you to the region's cuisine and explain the origins of the fresh produce found in the market, all sourced from the A Coruña province.

You will explore market stalls as a group, learning about the unique history and quality of Galician food, known for its outstanding production and role as a key supplier to the European market.

The guide will select seasonal ingredients including seafood, fish, fruits, vegetables, and herbs to be prepared later in the restaurant. After approximately 15 minutes, the group will reconvene outside the market before a short walk to Restaurante Oliva in the old town.

At the restaurant, you will be welcomed with a glass of Galician wine, Estrella Galicia beer, a soft drink, or coffee. The chef will begin preparing the dishes with live explanations of recipes and techniques visible to everyone. You will also receive an overview of Galicia's red and white wines and their traditional pairings, with tastings of four wines included.

Participants are invited to photograph the dishes and assist with cooking if they wish. The tapas-style meal will feature a minimum of three dishes, served alongside selected wines. There will be time to discuss the food and ask questions. Pens and paper are provided for taking notes and recipes.

The experience concludes with tastings of four Galician cheeses and four local after-dinner liqueurs.
