Description
Discover San Simón Inlet in the Vigo estuary on a guided kayaking tour that blends light adventure, coastal scenery, and historical interpretation. With a certified guide leading the way, this experience is designed to feel approachable for first-timers while still rewarding for confident paddlers—always with safety as the priority.
Your tour starts at Praia de Cesantes (Redondela) at the facilities of Salitre Club Deportivo. After check-in, you’ll receive your equipment (single or double kayak, paddle, and life jacket) followed by a short technical and safety briefing. Once everyone is ready, you’ll launch from Cesantes Beach and begin navigating through the inlet.
As you paddle, your guide will share insights about the local environment and the area’s cultural significance. The route includes interpretation and short technical stops along the way. The highlight is arriving at San Simón Island, where you’ll learn about its layered past—from a medieval monastery to a quarantine station and, in the 20th century, a prison.
After the island interpretation, you’ll paddle back to the starting point and finish where you began at Cesantes Beach. Please note the activity is weather-dependent, ensuring conditions are suitable for a safe and enjoyable outing. In the event of cancellation due to weather or safety reasons, a full refund will be provided.
