Description
Your journey begins at 9:30 AM from Santiago de Compostela, heading first to the historic town of Padrón. This town is closely linked to the Camino de Santiago and the arrival of the Apostle James in Galicia. Stroll through the peaceful old town, visit the Church of Santiago to see the “Pedrón” stone, and enjoy free time for coffee in Alameda gardens.
Next, visit the fishing village of Combarro, known for its narrow granite streets lined with traditional hórreos (granaries) and stone crosses overlooking the sea. This village reflects the essence of Galician coastal culture.
An optional boat trip departs from Combarro, featuring mussel and local wine tasting. During the cruise, sail through the estuary past mussel farms and take in views of Combarro, Marín, and Tambo Island from the water.
Continue to Isla da Toxa, one of Europe’s earliest spa destinations. Known for thermal waters and traditional soaps, the island features the historic Gran Hotel La Toja, the former soap factory, and the Chapel of the Shells, covered in scallop shells.
The tour then arrives at Cambados, the capital of Albariño wine in the Rías Baixas. Walk through Fefiñáns Square, admire the manor house and Church of San Benito, and sample the region’s renowned Albariño wines.
The final stop is Isla de Arousa, accessible via one of Europe’s longest sea bridges. This natural park offers clear waters, unspoiled beaches, and scenic coastal landscapes. Enjoy a seaside walk, relax with a drink, or swim at one of the island’s beaches.
The tour returns to Santiago de Compostela at approximately 7:30 PM.
