Description

Experience a unique day in A Coruña during one of the most eagerly anticipated astronomical events of the century: the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026. This tour has been specially designed for cruise passengers arriving at the port of A Coruña who wish to discover the city in a comfortable, safe way that fits in with their stopover schedule. Your guide will meet you at the exit of the cruise terminal to begin an experience that combines history, the sea, cultural heritage, and the special atmosphere of a city that will experience a once-in-a-lifetime day. We'll begin with a panoramic tour of some of A Coruña's most iconic sights. You'll discover the seafront promenade, the beaches of Riazor and Orzán, the famous glass-enclosed galleries of La Marina, and the spots that showcase the city's relationship with the Atlantic. The main attraction will be the Tower of Hercules, the oldest functioning Roman lighthouse in the world and one of Galicia's most iconic landmarks. From the area around the tower, you will enjoy spectacular ocean views and learn about the legends and stories that surround this monument. The itinerary is designed to allow cruise passengers to make the most of their stopover, with guaranteed return to the port well in advance of the ship's departure. For ships with a late departure or an overnight stay, a special option will be offered to observe the eclipse from a designated area with good visibility to the west. On August 12, 2026, A Coruña will be located within the path of totality of the eclipse. The phenomenon will occur in the late afternoon, so viewing will depend on weather conditions, horizon visibility, and safety instructions from local authorities. An exclusive excursion to discover A Coruña on a historic day.
