Description
The tour begins at the BIKING premises with an introduction covering Vigo and Galician traditions and culture using maps and key references. Participants receive instruction on electric bike use and practice time before departure.
The route starts in the Rosalía de Castro neighborhood, continuing along a bike path to the Náutico and the 'A Laxe' Shopping Center, where the first local testimony about Galician emigration will be shared.
Next, the group will ascend the ramp to the 'Casco Vello' area to visit the house museum of Antonio, Vigo’s last basket maker, whose stories provide insight into the city’s history. The tour includes stops at Puerta del Sol, discussing the statue of 'O Sereo,' and explores both the Lower and Upper Town.
The climb up Monte do Castro includes visiting the 'Asentamiento Castrexo' archaeological site and enjoying panoramic views of the Ría de Vigo, highlighting the city’s economic and cultural development.
Riding along the bike path to Balaídos and Citroën, the tour examines two influential city sites through stories from locals involved in Vigo’s maritime and industrial progress.
