Let's probably start with the fact that all these super-good reviews are very old—more than three years old! Look at the dates. They apparently closed during Covid and reopened under new owners who aren't exactly managing to run a 4-star hotel. They're apparently trying to cut corners. There's clearly not enough staff, and the ones they have are exhausted, like zombies—apparently they work 16-hour days and barely sleep. Apparently, the owners are skimping on staff, which is a shame! The staff creates the entire atmosphere in the hotel! For example, Susana, with her half-dark, half-burgundy hair, is completely unprepared for this kind of work; it's unclear where they pulled her from! She was yelling at the hotel's foreign guests near the pool, in Spanish. 😱 She apparently got the situation mixed up and didn't realize that she was the service staff, and the guest was the boss. She probably thought she was yelling at her neighbor in her own garden😨 = completely unfit for a 4-star hotel! Unacceptable! Also, there was no white wine by midday, and it hadn't been fixed by dinner! (Although there's no seafood on the menu now; most people eat burgers), but still—this is also unacceptable for a 4-star hotel! Almost all the guests are Pilgrims. But (!) breakfast is at 8:30 a.m. at the earliest, and dinner at 8:30 p.m.—which is, of course, very late for Pilgrims!!! But the staff works there around the clock, the same people—this is obviously done to keep the staff from dropping dead. All the Pilgrims choose this hotel (like us😅) because of the pool. The pool is nice, the water is cooling. I was glad to swim after such a tough hike.😊👍🏽 But there aren't enough sun loungers for everyone. The toilet and shower in the pool area are dirty, with bandages and other trash on the floor. But this is probably due to the lack of staff and untrained staff. They cooled the room to 5 degrees Celsius 😱😨 that's very cold! It wouldn't take long to catch a cold! There's not enough hot water in the shower either. I had to wash in cool, almost cold water. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean. The food was also delicious. Although they can't serve everyone at once, like in normal restaurants. And, red wine shouldn't be from the fridge 😉 it should be at room temperature 😊😉 In short, the guys are trying hard (except for that Susana, she's apparently having a nervous breakdown 😬😵‍💫). They're trying hard, and it shows. That's why I gave it a 3. And that's already very good! I can't give it a 5. They don't live up to the advertised price (+/- €100 per day, June 2026) and the 4-star rating they claim. The pool on the Pilgrim Trail certainly attracts pilgrims on hot days. But the hotel isn't fully prepared for Pilgrims, in terms of meal times! And it's not on the trail! ~2 km from the trail is quite far. There are a lot of things that could be improved.

We stayed for one wonderful night as part of our Camino experience. About 1km off the main trail. They specify 4pm check-in although we checked in at 2.45pm and enjoyed a drink in the bar beforehand. Spacious room, firm large double bed, good pillows, good shower/bath, aircon/heating. Nice balcony. ‘Restaurant’ is more of a bar/cafe menu. We enjoyed croquettes, tuna empanada, burgers, red wine and espressos. Sat in the outside terrace area. Also, breakfast was adequate. A platter delivered to the table, not self-serve buffet style. Nice coffee and croissants.

Great construction Hotel with towels and sandals but for the price there are no AC , like they say is old, no it doesn’t work. No AC , no Fan provided and far away from The Camino.
