In the centre of the Valley of Salnés, the historical capital of the Albariño grape, is Mar de Frades; a winery established since 1987. Throughout the vineyard you will be presented with many beautiful vistas of mountains and the Arosa estuary. The estuary sits opposite Mar de Frades and is the location of where the first Albariño vines were originally planted.
On your visit you can follow the wine making process and see bottling lines and tasting rooms. For a maximum cost of 5 euro, you can attend a 45 minute guided tour of the winery facilities and vineyard, with a glass of Mar de Frades wine to enjoy at the end. Or, for 15 euro visit the professional tasting room where your taste buds will be taken on a journey through the various different wines Mar de Frades has to offer. All bookings are requested in advance.
