Heading towards the Galician coast, we set off from Oviedo and Gijón to discover some of the most impressive corners of northern Spain. Among them is the magnificent Playa de las Catedrales, where, when the tide goes out, the sea reveals a natural cathedral that opens up to the sky. Walk along the sand and admire the stone arches sculpted by the waves in a breathtaking and silent setting. The tide will welcome us in the morning or bid us farewell at sunset, depending on its whim. Another stop will be Isla Pancha, an island that looks like something out of a postcard, with one of the most captivating views in the region. From its viewpoint, even more impressive than the lighthouse, you will enjoy a unique panoramic view of the estuary that connects Figueras and Castropol, a landscape that looks like a living painting, where the sea and the land embrace each other peacefully. Ribadeo will surprise us with its rich history, architecture, and vibrant local life. We will take a guided visit through its streets, exploring the San Roque neighborhood, the Torre de los Moreno, the old town, the port, the Casa do Patín, and the Convent of Santa Clara. At the end, you will have free time to discover the flavors, shops, and charming corners of Ribadeo at your own pace. Don't forget to try the famous pulpo a feira (octopus) or one of the other dishes that best represent the local seafood cuisine. At some point along the way, we will come across Tapia de Casariego, a quiet town open to the sea. Stroll through its port, look out from the Os Cañóis viewpoint, or simply sit and enjoy the calm landscape. Here, simplicity is what matters most. Before returning, we will stop at the San Agustín Lighthouse in Ortigueira, a place that invites you to contemplate in peace. Located on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic, this lighthouse has guided sailors since the late 19th century and offers one of the most breathtaking views of the Galician coast. From here, the horizon seems endless, with cliffs silhouetted in the distance and the wind telling stories of the sea. It is the perfect spot for a peaceful break, to let yourself be enveloped by the landscape and feel the deep heartbeat of the north.
