Restaurante Gaio
Galicia
Reviews
This is our second visit and Gaio lives up to its reputation once again. We just let the staff choose what to bring and went with it. There was plenty of seafood as you’d expect in Galicia and Peru but also some fantastic meat dishes too. The desserts were also 10/10. We’ll be back soon.
Gaio is a hidden treasure. It’s a small restaurant which seats about 50-60. It has a bar seating overlooking the kitchen. You can watch the Chefs and cooks prepare the food. I showed up in a Friday night as soon as they open without a reservation. At first he told me they were completely booked, but then he said if we could be gone in an hour and a half they would need us so we agreed. Rather than ordering, I told him to bring me a taste of all dishes, which turned out to be a great choice. Some of the highlights include the spicy green sauce with white beans as well as the hake fish. It had this wonderful coconut milk with seagrass foam that was outstanding. The grilled pork was also top-notch
I celebrated my birthday there, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting — the perfect place for a special occasion. The food was absolutely amazing. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can really taste the care and creativity in each bite. It’s clear that a lot of thought goes into both the ingredients and the execution. The service was just as impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. They really made me feel celebrated and taken care of on my special day. A special thank you to Chef Andres for such an incredible culinary experience. You made my birthday dinner beyond memorable!
