Local tip
Our favourite thing to do is watch the seals playing or hiding, depending on the season! See if you can also spot the ugly prehistoric lamprey fish.

The Aquarium Finisterrae is located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, close to the historic lighthouse, the Tower of Hercules.

Descend to the Nautilus, a room submerged in the sea, evoking scenes from Jules Verne's 'Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea'. Amongst the scenery is a re-created cabinet of Captain Nemo, music composed especially for the room and thousands of fish from over 50 different species swimming around you. Tiger sharks, marine rays, grouper fish, lamprey, octopus and sea bass live in a tank of more than four million litres of water.

Whatever you want to know about the sea, all you need to do is ask! There are 60 interactive models in the Maremagnum Room and you can touch, listen and smell as you admire the sea and its creatures. Fall in the love with the environment at the same time as you study oceanography, geology, sea farming and marine traditions. This is an aquarium of great size which represents the ecosystems of the Galician coast.

Get to know the colony of seals from the oriental Atlantic. Discover how they live in their own habitat. Every day you can watch them eat, play, look after their seal pups, which are born every year, or you can connect to a webcam to view the seals live from the aquarium.
