Rectoral de Gundivós, is located in the heart of Ribeira Sacra near to Sober, and was built as a stately mansion in the 18th century. Today it has been converted to host a genuine pottery studio devoted to keeping alive all traditional local pottery techniques.
Visitors can admire historical pieces and other ethnographic elements from Ribeira Sacra.
Special ways and traditions of the pottery of Gundivós have been handed down the generations , so today they are valued as historical testimonies of past times.
Low potters wheels ,wood kilns and natural tradional glazes give this pottery a magic touch to symbolize the best tradions of rural Galicia. The "xarro", a tradional jug, stands out as the most popular piece amongst pitchers, stewpots, pots etc
Visitors can also watch how some pieces are made following some of the oldest, traditional ways of spanish potters.
