Local tip
Visit Chill and Go Recovery Point after a long day of walking the Camino de Santiago for a rejuvenating experience.

The Chill and Go Recovery Point, located in Pontevedra, Galicia, serves as an inviting haven for individuals seeking relief from physical exertion. This center focuses on providing therapeutic treatments aimed at alleviating muscle fatigue and promoting recovery. Specifically designed for pilgrims and those with tired legs, the venue offers an array of services that include presotherapy and infrared light treatments. These methods work to enhance circulation, reduce muscle fatigue, and alleviate the sensation of heaviness in the legs.

The Chill and Go Recovery Point employs red and infrared light therapy as the introductory step in their recovery process. This technique works on a deep-tissue level to reduce inflammation, boost circulation, enhance muscle recovery, and decrease pain. As a result, individuals experiencing muscle fatigue see significant relief from discomfort and feel rejuvenated even after the first session.

For those seeking additional relaxation, the center provides an automatic massage bench. This mechanical deep massage technique focuses on the back to release accumulated tension. Issues such as lower back strain, muscle rigidity, and stress-related discomfort can be alleviated through this treatment. When combined with red and infrared light therapy, the effect is an even more relaxed and oxygenated musculature, resulting in a deeper and more effective massage experience.

Presotherapy at Chill and Go Recovery Point centers on the legs. This air compression approach stimulates circulation and activates the lymphatic system, making it highly effective for alleviating symptoms like heavy legs, swelling, and muscle fatigue. The combination of presotherapy with red and infrared light enhances its anti-inflammatory and circulatory benefits, promoting rapid and comprehensive recovery.

The manual massage sessions are customized to address the client's specific needs. They allow for pinpointed muscle work and help accelerate recovery while providing general relief. Each session begins with an assessment to tailor the technique, pressure, and rhythm of the massage, which can range from stress relief to sports recovery and lymphatic drainage.

Additionally, the center offers a personalized recovery treatment that combines manual massage with advanced recovery technology. This blend maximizes recovery through a synergy of therapeutic touch and technological tools.

What a wonderful experience . Helpful staff and English is spoken here. Very nice added touches, like a place to wash your feet. So relaxing and affordable - if I lived here, I would come every week!

EXCELLENT! Could not recommend this place and the staff more. Lovely guy greeted us, booked us in VERY last minute for a massage and pressotherapy. We walked in as a walk in booking and they split the 60 mins they had available with a massage therapist so we could have 30 mins massage and 30 mins pressotherapy each. Both were amazing and with red light infrared therapy too. The massage lady was incredible!! Magic hands! Thank you for saving our feet and legs for the rest of the Camino!

Honestly one of the best choices I made during the Camino - right place and right time! Perfect for recovery after some days of walking. I feared that massages in Europe are expensive but this was a good alternative and reasonably priced. It’s a service that athletes do (leg compression). Though relatively new, they ran the service quite smoothly. I think this will be a hit for tired pilgrims doing the Camino. The staff was also extremely helpful and focused on service. Highly recommended especially for Camino pilgrims!

We have just visited whilst doing our Camino. I can’t recommend enough! Miguel was extremely friendly and his English was perfect, he made me and my mum feel right at home! Our legs feel so much better than before and was a nice bit of pampering between hikes. Thank you so much!
