Cooperative Society of Condado-Paradanta promotes and produces local products from As Neves which is in the south of Galicia in the province of Pontevedra. These include As Neves cheese or 'requeixo' as its known and Condado-Paradanta honey which is from the mountains. They have a factory and have ambitious plans for the future including creating an interpretation centre.
Requeixo cheese is a fresh cheese made with cows milk without adding any salt and is a popular dessert served with honey or sugar. It is also used in salads and for other uses. It's a natural mik product without conservatives or salt.
Conditions are perfect in As Neves for honey production too.Again there are no conservatives used. There are a wide variety of different types from forest honey to nut flavoured or with eucalyptus.
Every Good Friday there is a large festival in the village of As Neves where you can try the cheese with honey washed down with the local wines from the region.
