A visit to the Galician Centre for Contemporary Art (CGAC) is a chance to not only view an impressive collection of work from both local and international artists, but also appreciate the modern building of the gallery itself, designed by acclaimed Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza.
The building has been designed to flood with natural light, drawing focus to the exhibitions. It's worth venturing to the upper terrace for the view of the city's historic quarter.
The CGAC is known for its attention to up and coming artists, as well as the most renowned names in Galician art of the 20th century. The permanent collection gives an insight into the recent art history of Galicia.
Guided tours of the exhibits are available upon request. To book your visit please call 34 981 546 631/23. Weekend guided tours available in spanish (booking not required) at 1pm on both saturdays and sundays.
There is also an auditorium,coffee shop, library and bookshop.
